Question for TheVisa Expert

Postby falterolav527 » Fri Dec 08, 2006 6:33 pm

Hi
I am planning to take step 3 (connecticut) in mid January 2007: meaning that, if I pass, the result should be available by the end of February.
If I begin the residency in july 2007, do I have enough time for a H1B visa processing?
Thanks

You may begin filing for H-1B visas starting on April 1, 2007. However, if approved you may only begin working on October 1, 2007. There is no availability prior to October 2007 unless the hospital qualifies for the H-1B exemption. You would need to check with your residency coordinator or someone else at the hospital to find out.
